Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Easy Kitchens and Interior ("we", "us", "our") and you, our client or prospective client ("you", "your"). Easy Kitchens and Interior is a bespoke kitchen design and build business based in Brusubi, The Gambia, founded and led by Leandra McKenzie.

By engaging our services, booking a consultation, accepting a quote, or placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, contact us before proceeding.

1. Our Services

Easy Kitchens and Interior provides bespoke kitchen design, manufacturing, and installation services, as well as interior design services, for residential clients across The Gambia. Every project we undertake is designed and built specifically for the individual client — we do not supply generic or off-the-shelf products.

Our process involves an initial consultation, a home survey, a design consultation, a detailed quote, manufacturing at our Brusubi workshop, and final delivery and installation. Each stage is described in more detail below.

2. Consultations and Surveys

Initial consultations are offered free of charge. During the consultation, Leandra McKenzie or a member of our team will discuss your project, visit your space to take measurements, and advise on design options, materials, and timelines.

The consultation does not create a binding contract between us. A binding contract is only formed when you accept our written quote and pay the required deposit as described in Section 4.

3. Quotes and Proposals

Following your consultation and survey, we will prepare a detailed written quote including a sketch plan of your proposed kitchen or interior design, a description of the materials and finishes to be used, and the total price.

Our quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After 30 days, material costs may have changed and the quote may need to be revised.

Quotes are based on the information provided during the survey. Any changes to the scope of work, materials, or dimensions after the quote is accepted may result in a revised price. We will always inform you in writing before proceeding with any change that affects the cost.

4. Deposits, Payments, and Pricing

4.1 Deposit

To confirm your order and begin manufacturing, we require a deposit of 40% of the total agreed price. This deposit is non-refundable once manufacturing has commenced, as materials will have been ordered and work will have begun specifically for your project.

4.2 Final Payment

The remaining 60% balance is due upon completion of manufacturing, prior to delivery of your kitchen. Please note that the quoted price covers the design and manufacture of your kitchen only. Installation is not included unless explicitly agreed in writing as part of your order. Clients may arrange installation independently or discuss installation pricing separately with our team at any time.

4.3 Payment Methods

We accept payment by bank transfer, mobile money, or cash. Payment details will be provided on your invoice. All prices are quoted in Gambian Dalasi (GMD) unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.4 Late Payment

If final payment is not received within 7 days of installation completion, we reserve the right to charge interest on the outstanding amount and to withhold any warranty documentation until payment is made in full.

5. Design and Customisation

All designs remain the intellectual property of Easy Kitchens and Interior until full payment has been received. Once full payment is received, the design belongs to you.

You are entitled to request design changes before manufacturing commences. Changes requested after manufacturing has started may incur additional costs and delays, which we will discuss with you before proceeding.

We will do our best to match colours, finishes, and materials to samples shown during consultation. However, as natural and manufactured materials vary in appearance, minor differences may occur. We will always inform you of any significant variation before it is used in your project.

6. Materials and Sourcing

Easy Kitchens and Interior sources premium materials both locally and internationally to meet the quality standards our clients expect. Where materials are sourced internationally, delivery timelines may affect your project schedule. We will keep you informed of any delays caused by material availability.

All materials used in your kitchen are new unless otherwise agreed in writing. We do not use second-hand or reclaimed materials without your explicit consent.

7. Timelines and Delays

We will provide you with an estimated timeline for your project at the time of quoting. Timelines are estimates and not guaranteed completion dates, as delays can occur due to material availability, weather conditions, site access issues, or changes requested by you.

We will always keep you informed of any significant delay and will work with you to find a suitable revised timeline. We are not liable for losses caused by delays beyond our reasonable control.

8. Installation

Our installation team will deliver and install your kitchen or interior at the agreed address. You are responsible for ensuring that the space is clear, accessible, and safe for our team to work in on the agreed installation date.

Any existing fixtures, fittings, or appliances that need to be removed before installation should be cleared before our team arrives, unless we have specifically agreed to carry out removal as part of our scope of work.

Upon completion of installation, we will carry out a walkthrough with you to inspect the finished work. Any snags or minor issues identified at this stage will be addressed promptly.

9. Warranty and Aftercare

We stand behind the quality of our work. Easy Kitchens and Interior provides the following warranty on completed installations:

  • Workmanship warranty — 12 months from the date of installation. This covers defects in the quality of our installation work, including fitting, joinery, and finishing.
  • Materials warranty — subject to the manufacturer's warranty for any materials or components supplied by third-party manufacturers. We will assist you in making any warranty claim with the relevant manufacturer.

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning, accidental damage, water damage not caused by our installation, or modifications made by anyone other than Easy Kitchens and Interior.

10. Cancellations and Refunds

10.1 Cancellation Before Manufacturing

If you wish to cancel your order before manufacturing has commenced, you may do so by contacting us in writing. In this case, we will refund your deposit in full, less any costs already incurred for design work or site surveys.

10.2 Cancellation After Manufacturing Has Started

Once manufacturing has started, your deposit is non-refundable. This is because materials will have been ordered and work will have begun specifically for your project and cannot be reused for another client.

10.3 Our Right to Cancel

We reserve the right to cancel a contract if you fail to make payments as agreed, if access to your property is not provided, or if circumstances beyond our control make it impossible to complete the work. In such cases, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any amounts paid for work not yet carried out.

11. Our Liability

Easy Kitchens and Interior will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards. We are responsible for the quality of our workmanship and the materials we supply.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses arising from delays, design changes, or any circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability to you in any circumstances is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the relevant project.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12. Photography and Portfolio

We love to showcase our work and take pride in every kitchen we build. With your permission, we may photograph your completed kitchen for use on our website, social media, and marketing materials. We will always ask for your consent before publishing any photographs of your home.

If you would prefer that we do not use photographs of your kitchen, simply let us know and we will respect your wishes. This will not affect your project in any way.

13. Disputes

We hope that any issues that arise can be resolved quickly and amicably. If you have a concern about our work or our service, please contact Leandra McKenzie directly at info@eazykitchens.com or via WhatsApp at +220 529 1551.

We will acknowledge your concern within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If we are unable to resolve the dispute directly, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing any formal legal proceedings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Republic of The Gambia. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through mediation shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of The Gambia.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be published on our website at eazykitchens.com. The Terms that apply to your project are those in force at the time your order is confirmed.
